Recently Toyota got some hits to their once stellar reputation by discovering that many of their new cars had a fault that caused them to practically run on their own. This isn't really all that great of news. Though the human species does tend to have a need for speed, they tend to have a desire for control as well.

Many of the recalled cars were from the US. A pretty good number were also from China, where Toyota has been growing in popularity over recent years.

Despite these recent recalls Toyota has decided that a way to boost sales, probably to make up from what was lost during the recall fiesco, is to introduce several new cars to China.

Toyota is doing well in China because of thier commitment to making low price, highly gas efficient vehicles, including some of the most popular hybrid models out there.

Only time will tell how much effect the recent recalls will have on Toyota's reputation.
